在中國古代的神話故事中流傳著女媧神用泥土造人的故事，西方《聖經》裡也記載著耶和華神用地上的塵土造人。
1:26[hb5] 神說、我們要照著我們的形像、按著我們的樣式造人、使他們管理海裡的魚、空中的鳥、地上的牲畜、和全地、並地上所爬的一切昆蟲。
[kjv] And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
[bbe] And God said, Let us make man in our image, like us: and let him have rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every living thing which goes flat on the earth.
顯然，這裡神說話時的對像是其他的神，而這位神層次比其他神高。這裡「我們」是包括了說話神及其他的神，蘊涵了男神和女神。緊接著《舊約》裡寫道，
1:27[hb5] 神就照著自己的形像造人、乃是照著他的形像造男造女。
[kjv] So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
[bbe] And God made man in his image, in the image of God he made him: male and female he made them.
於是就有不同的神造了不同的人種的故事在世界上流傳。接著《舊約》裡寫道:
2:7[hb5] 耶和華神用地上的塵土造人、將生氣吹在他鼻孔裡、他就成了有靈的活人、名叫亞當。
[kjv] And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
[bbe] And the Lord God made man from the dust of the earth, breathing into him the breath of life: and man became a living soul.
在《聖經》裡，就特別提到了「耶和華神用地上的塵土造人」。中國的上古神話提到女媧神用泥土造人。
在《聖經・出埃及記》，提到了「外邦神」，「別的神」，「其他神」，「你們四圍國民的神」，「耶和華比萬神都大」。其實，這裡也暗示了其他的神造了其他的人種。然而，近代有許多宗教信徒認為，某某某是「Only God」，「唯一神」說法是不妥的。但聖經裡要求不能信其他的神是對的。如，
20:3 [hgb] 除了我以外，你不可有別的神。
[kjv] Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
[bbe] You are to have no other gods but me.
23:32 [hgb] 不可和他們並他們的神立約。
[kjv] Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.
[bbe] Make no agreement with them or with their gods.
目地是保證修煉的專一性。
法輪功創始人李洪志先生更進一步講出了宇宙的真實情況：「有人講泥土造人如何如何，我們不講這些具體現象是怎麼造的。其實怎麼造的都有。更大的神只要一想就能把你造出來。任何物體都是活的，給你造出外形了之後，再造出內臟。人覺的人體非常複雜，而對大智大覺的神來說小小事一件。佛一想，在極微觀下用物質就給你造出內臟，很快就可以造出來。每一個物體形成的時候，就有一個生命注入進去。當然人還有副元神，許許多多的生命都來了，構成了人。講起來就是這麼一個情況。」 （《舊金山法會講法》）
這也就不難理解「2:7[hb5] 耶和華神用地上的塵土造人、將生氣吹在他鼻孔裡、他就成了有靈的活人、名叫亞當。」這裡，「將生氣吹在他鼻孔裡……」可理解為神給了一個元神，讓一個生命注入進去，「他就成了有靈的活人」。
